These lidded jars were the start to a phase when I exclusively threw with a very dark clay body and glazed with a color called floating blue. I appreciate the contrast between the glaze color and the clay body, which can be seen on the rim where the glaze “breaks”. To accentuate this contrast further, I left the knobs of the jars bare. The raw nature also helps to grip the knobs.
